SOUL

LIVING WITH SUBSTANCE

A CENTENARY BUILDING

PALACES THAT BRING BEAUTY TO THE CITY

José Rodrigues Cardoso, a successful former emigrant in Brazil, who built his fortune on international trade businesses between South America and Europe, ordered Palacete Monte da Luz to be built, in 1911, when he returned to his hometown. This is a significant specimen of the contribution by the “torna-viagem” to the erection of beautiful palaces in Porto and to the development of Portuguese artistic avant-garde early in the 20th century.

His home, currently the real estate development we present you, goes beyond the quality of the building. There is substance left by heritage made up of a diversity of influences, which confer a singular character and personality to it.

ART NOUVEAU

HISTORIC INTEREST

Built in the early 20th century, this bourgeois house shows, in all its splendour, the Art Nouveau legacy in Porto. That is one of the aspects that contribute most to the romanticism attributed to it and for it to have been named a site of “historic interest” by Porto municipality.
